About Me

Hello,
my photography journey started in the mid 1980s by obtaining a 35mm camera for my birthday. By building a darkroom in my parents’ attic, I learned how to develop black and white photos and the skills involved in printing. During my university years in Belfast I fine tuned those skills and progressed into medium format photography, along with studying graphic design. After graduation I secured my first job as a studio artist for a local advertising agency.

Whilst photography has always been an integral part of my life, my experience in advertising agencies means I also have strong skillsets in motion design, graphic design, video shooting and editing, sound recording and production, UX Design, HTML5 animation, and can produce social advertising from concept to completion. I have produced campaigns for clients such as Bulmers, Permanent TSB, Aer Lingus, Paddy Power, Bank of Ireland, 123.ie, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Kildare Village, and Jameson, to name a few.

I’m an approved photographer for Getty Images and have been supplying them with stock imagery across many sectors for several years, my photographs have featured on the front cover of LeCool magazine, The Irish Examiner, Broadsheet, and in 2019 was a finalist in the Huawei Creatives Photography Competition for the “Street” category.

With over twenty years working in advertising agencies, I have extensive knowledge to deliver photography and video that works in today’s digital world, and the ever changing technology that it lives in.

Give me a shout today for a chat, thank you

Alan
